Finishing up May with a pretty good list of 68 releases this week and a ton of black metal. The three stand outs below should all be amazing and there are some other progressive albums that all sound promising. Drop a comment if I missed anything or if there’s something you’re excited for.
Stand outs this week:
The Scalar Process - Second album from French progressive technical death metal band. These guys aren’t technical or progressive just for the sake of being either of those and they blend the two subgenres really well along with some melodies mixed in.
Voidmaker - Debut album from progressive blackened death metal with some thrash elements from the US. You can check out the press release here. This one is out today.
Se, Josta Ei Puhuta - Fourth album from Finnish melodic blackened death metal band. From the band: “Interwoven guitar harmonies guide the listener from one layer to another, creating a tense yet unexpectedly warm atmosphere. Resurrection does not occur through light, but through darkness, where the old self is abandoned and a new form is born.”
