Another light week with 38 releases. But quality over quantity this week. I am looking forward to as many as weeks with double the number of releases. Some good death / doom, melo death and lots of black metal.
Stand outs this week:
Inherits the Void - Fourth album from atmospheric melodic black metal solo project out of France. I’m a big fan of the 2024 album Scars of Yesteryears and really looking forward to this one. For this album, he’s using some guest musicians; Romain Negro (Apolaustic, ex-Stortregn) on vocals and Nicolas Müller (Akiavel, ex-Artefact, ex-Svart Crown) on drums.
In Vespro - Debut album from Italian death / doom metal band. Reminiscent of early ‘90s doom, like Katatonia and Anathema.
Mossystone - Debut album after an EP out earlier this year from solo atmospheric black metal project. “Paysages Tristes — dedicated to autumn, to moss-covered stones, and to all those who continue to wander within these sorrowful landscapes.” This one is out today.
