Bergen, Norway & Athens, Greece; 20 May 2026: Bergen-based melodic black metal outfit Sworn have announced that their fifth album, “Null Crowned the Infinite”, will be released on 4 September 2026. Pre-orders for the physical versions licensed to The Circle Music are available now.

Three years following the critically acclaimed “A Journey told through Fire” (2023), the new album navigates a sprawling conceptual narrative, tracing the cyclical nature of the cosmos from its initial spark in the void to its inevitable dissolution.

Lyrically, the album explores the terrifying scale of cosmic darkness and the fragility of existence within a primordial emptiness. Sworn investigates the philosophy of becoming and unmaking, where reality and time emerge from nothingness only to eventually collapse back into the same unfathomable origin. Musically, “Null Crowned the Infinite” pushes the boundaries of the band's established sound, balancing their signature melodic tension with newfound levels of aggression and atmospheric depth. The record features "The Starless Origin", a twelve-minute epic that stands as their longest composition to date, alongside "Fracture of Aeons", which the band identifies as their most aggressive track ever recorded.

Sworn collaborated with renowned producer Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios, who handled the mixing and mastering. Bogren’s legendary portfolio, featuring giants such as Opeth, Arch Enemy and Behemoth, brings a polished yet devastating edge to the performances of Max Wilson, Christoffer Kjørsvik, Gøran Hope and Tom Ian Klungland. The album artwork is equally striking, created by Pär Olofsson, known for his iconic work with Aborted and Kreator.

While Sworn continues to operate as an independent entity for the recording and production, they have partnered with The Circle Music to handle the physical releases under a special licensing deal. The release includes a Digipak CD alongside two distinct vinyl variants: Marbled Smoke and Marbled Green.

BalashToth is the solo project of Balazs Toth, former guitarist of the Hungarian melodic death metal band Casketgarden. After moving to Ireland in 2012 and studying music production and mixing, he gradually turned the BalashToth name from a YouTube channel for riff challenges, covers, song recreations, gear reviews, and mixing guides into a full recording project of its own.

Following the 2023 EP Anti-Life, the 2024 EP =Equation=, and the =Anti-Life/Equation= compilation CD, BalashToth now arrives at its first full-length release. The previous EPs were well received, with Anti-Life named among the top Irish-based metal EPs of 2023 and the 2024 compilation appearing in several Hungarian year-end lists. The album also follows the 2025 Paradise Lost cover single “Mortals Watch the Day”.

Equation II - The Antithesis of Life and Free Will completes the Anti-Life Equation thread introduced on the earlier releases. Across eight full tracks and an atmospheric intermission built entirely around viola, the album explores different shades of melodic death metal, from the 280 BPM attack of “+Fear + Despair” to the old-school death metal feel of “Self = Dark Side” and the doomy closing track “x Judgement”, which features Adam Toth (Kajgün, ex-The Dethroners, Art of Dethronement) on viola. Lyrically, the record continues the themes of the previous EPs, but from a more personal and close-up perspective rather than the broader, catastrophic view of earlier material.

The first single, “÷ Misunderstanding”, leans into a more traditional melodic death metal sound, with uneasy timing shifts, a bleak atmosphere, and sorrowful vocals from Deathmetalvoicer. That collaboration began after Balazs and Deathmetalvoicer worked together on full-band covers for the BalashToth YouTube channel, including songs by The Haunted, Dimension Zero, Gates of Ishtar, Entombed, and Iron Maiden.

A second single/video, “Self = Dark Side”, follows on May 14, ahead of the album release on June 12.

“Self = Dark Side” is the second single and leans into a more groovy, old-school approach with a classic melodic death metal chorus. Lyrically, it explores the collapse of identity through endless desire, a cycle of consumption, illusion, and decay, where wanting never ends and satisfaction only deepens the void.

Polish black metal outfit Piołun returns with their second full-length album, “Exolvuntur”, set for release on 22 May 2026 via Malignant Voices.

On “Exolvuntur”, Piołun remains deeply inspired by the Scandinavian and Polish black metal scenes of the 90s, while incorporating a refined, contemporary edge. It follows the band’s 2022 debut, “Rzeki Goryczy”.

“Stylistically, it is a continuation of the preceding ‘Rzeki Goryczy’; however, it presents black metal that is more dynamic and melodic,” said the band’s founder, Sorh. “The album’s concept revolves around the cycle of life and death, referring to human transience in the face of ruthless nature. ‘Exolvuntur’ is a 37-minute journey where the wildness of traditional black metal intertwines with nostalgia and melancholy. Black metal for black metal fans.”

Sorh is widely recognised as XCIII, the guitarist for Blaze of Perdition, Oremus and Mānbryne. For this new chapter, the production was handled by one of Poland’s premier engineers, Haldor Grunberg, at Satanic Audio.

Spanish melodic death metal band BLOODHUNTER have revealed new details on their hotly-anticipated studio album, entitled “Sons Of The Abandoned”, that is set for release on June 12, 2026 via ROAR – A Division Of Reigning Phoenix Music. Pre-orders have started today.

Accompanying the album announcement, BLOODHUNTER step it up with the release of a music video for their latest single “Threshold Of Hell”, featuring Fernando Ribeiro of Portuguese dark metal legends MOONSPELL! Leaning on crushing riffs, a commanding groove, brutal vocals and a dense, shadowy atmosphere, the track is elevated by Ribeiro’s unmistakable voice, adding depth and gravitas.

The long-established German death metal ensemble FLESHCRAWL has signed a worldwide deal with Distortion Music Group (DMG) - Powered by Reigning Phoenix Music. The signing marks a new chapter as the band prepares to unveil their tenth studio album, Epitome of Carnage on June 12, 2026. About THE BAND:

FLESHCRAWL was founded in the spring of 1987 in Illertissen, Germany, by Stefan Hanus and Bastian Herzog. Initially operating under the name Morgöth, the band adopted a markedly more extreme musical direction in 1990 and briefly performed as Suffocation. However, with the emergence of the American band of the same name and their impending vinyl debut, another name change became necessary. Thus, FLESHCRAWL was born.

Through decades of evolution, challenges, and perseverance, FLESHCRAWL has remained steadfast in its mission: delivering uncompromising, traditional death metal with authenticity, power, and unwavering conviction. In 2020, with a completely renewed and revitalized guitar lineup, the band entered the first songwriting sessions for their tenth studio album.

On June 11th, 2021, long-time vocalist Sven “Svenson” Gross passed away after a courageous battle with cancer that lasted over a year. His loss was a profound tragedy, deeply felt by his family, friends, and the entire FLESHCRAWL community. Despite this immense personal and professional blow, stepping back from their mission in death metal was never an option. The band began the search for a new voice to carry their legacy forward, and on October 15th, 2021, Borisz Sarafutgyinov was officially announced as FLESHCRAWL’s new and permanent frontman, ushering in a new chapter for the band.

Songwriting continued steadily throughout 2023, 2024, and into 2025, while the band maintained a strong live presence, performing at further renowned events such as Metal Gate Czech Deathfest, Hell over Aschaffenburg, Nice to Eat You Deathfest, Eindhoven Metal Meeting, Bucharest Deathfest, Heidelberg Metal Meeting, Braincrusher in Hell, Sick Midsummer, and the 70000 Tons of Metal cruise.

By 2025, songwriting for the successor to Into the Catacombs of Flesh (2019) was nearing completion. The band found a strong and capable new partner in Reigning Phoenix Music, securing a new label home for the release of Epitome of Carnage. In November 2025 FLESHCRAWL signed a worldwide deal with DMG.

Barcelona-based atmospheric black metal outfit SOTABOSC unveil “Freyja”, the second single from their forthcoming debut full-length “El Batec dels Maquis”, set for release on April 17 via Dunk!Records. Following the sprawling intensity of their first single, the band delivers a track that fuses mythological symbolism with historical memory into a deeply evocative composition.

“Freyja” started life as an instrumental piece for Ulmus, the solo project of SOTABOSC’s Xavi Forné, inspired by the Norse goddess. In its reinterpretation, the concept shifts into the context of the Maquis, where Freyja becomes a metaphor for the women of the resistance. Like the goddess - associated with war, death, and fertility - these women embody strength, care, and determination amidst conflict. Not as a distant myth, but as a real, silenced, and essential presence.

“El Batec dels Maquis” unfolds in two halves - The first reimagines three compositions from Ulmus, originally instrumental and written for acoustic instruments, now transformed into a sound shaped by atmospheric black metal with strong post-rock influences. The new lyrics focus on animals, forests and the natural environment, forming a narrative arc that connects with the second half of the album.

The second part consists of a single track exceeding 15 minutes, where SOTABOSC expresses its purest musical identity: raw black metal roots, expansive instrumental passages and experimental structures inspired by post-rock. The vocals - harsh and evocative - pay tribute to the Maquis and their anti-Francoist resistance in Catalonia during and after the Civil War.

With this debut, SOTABOSC establishes a project in which identity, narrative intent and sonic depth merge into an artistic statement that is both musical and political.

­Numento’s brand-new single, “The Extortionist” is inspired by countless true crime stories in which a person who initially appears kind and warm-hearted gradually transforms into a dangerous manipulator whose goal is to secretly extort benefits from their victim in order to boost their own reputation and self-esteem. On the surface, they appear innocent and friendly to everyone, but beneath the surface, a nightmarish plot simmers. They are a bloodthirsty predator who will stop at nothing to get what they want, and they are even willing to kill to avoid getting caught.

Numento, who has also previously incorporated the Finnish national instrument kantele into their music, introduces a new sonic element with this track: the distorted kantele, which has already amazed both audiences and sound engineers at live shows. Thanks to the distortion effect, the kantele’s already eerie sound takes on even more ominous and downright haunting tones on “The Extortionist” — ones that few have heard before.

“The Extortionist” once again showcases Numento’s signature style of blending influences from various metal subgenres and shifting moods as dictated by the song’s narrative, but this time with a more polished and daring approach. The song features even greater contrasts, ranging from delicate, evocative verses and a catchy, melodic chorus to a C-section that escalates into full-blown blast beats, unleashing fury with the combined power of three vocalists.

The music video for the song represents the band’s most ambitious and professionally executed production to date, created by an international team of dozens of people. The music video was filmed in Espoo at the cultural-historical setting of Finns Folk High School, and the production was overseen by producer and cinematographer Eino Antonio Leskinen, who has been involved in numerous productions. “The whole band is incredibly pleased with how director Adàn Mendoza captured the spirit of ‘The Extortionist’ and translated the song into a visual form,” commented Numento guitarist Aleksi Vehmassalo.

Born out of five years of creative searching, doubt and ultimate rediscovery, the album marks a powerful return for the band. Far from playing it safe, MOONSPELL deliver a work that feels like a rebirth: darker, sharper and emotionally unfiltered. Rather than bending to modern trends, the band double down on identity and substance, presenting a bold and beautiful statement of Gothic Metal in its purest form: dark, romantic, dramatic and unapologetically heavy!

“I lost my faith and hope in vampires for quite a few years.
They became the clowns of Hollywood, the cheap Halloween shop customs, the old and disgraceful Princes from the East. Until the film director Robert Eggers brought us Nosferatu in 2024 and I was immediately attracted back to that tragic, romantic character who Bram Stoker immortalised in his letters. I wrote Far from God in just one breath and it’s our first song about vampiric love in ages. I confess I felt the urge of, together with Moonspell, saving the face of Gothic Metal which became hostage of semi-tuned operatic female vocalists, simpleton and crunchy guitar riffs; and of lyrical content that would make Dracula impale himself with a stake in his bloodless heart. This song is the essence of this album, its title, its video, its soul. And you can even feel the fire of daylight burning into yours and your lover’s skin.”

Thematically, Far From God moves through Baudelairian love, existential guilt and redemption, Christlike resurrections and the quiet nobility of creatures of the night. Vampires, werewolves and sacred symbolism are not escapism here, but vehicles for genuine dark emotion: solemn, romantic and unfiltered. The album rejects artificial gloss in favour of fantasy grounded in sincerity, rediscovering the heart of Gothic Metal in its most authentic form.

“To create Far from God we had to wait for the muse,” Ribeiro admits. “Again, she didn’t failed us and revealed herself in the most mysterious and beautiful ways to us.

It took us five long years of hit and miss, of despairing to the point of thinking we didn’t have it anymore and why should we at all create new music. But I’m glad we persisted. Far from God is a true crusade against the decline of the style in the past few years, a darkly crafted statement that Moonspell is here to stay and to claim our throne. BIOGRAPHY:

Se, josta ei puhuta is a metal band from Iisalmi. The band was founded in 2007.

That same year, the band recorded a four-track demo titled Se, josta ei puhuta and signed a recording contract with the Sound of Finland label in the spring of 2010. The album Ne, joista ei puhuta was released in May 2010.

In the spring of 2011, the band recorded their second studio album, Musta, kylmä, syvä ja samea (Black, cold, deep and murky), which was released by Spinefarm Records in November 2011.

In 2010 and 2011, Se, josta ei puhuta toured actively across Finnish venues. The band began preparations for a third album, which was, however, put on hold during the production phase in late 2012.

In 2022, as a result of the band’s rebirth, the third album Gehenna was completed and released through Inverse Records. The lineup, which had remained unchanged until then, saw its first change when Jimi Myöhänen was chosen as the drummer following the release of the new album.

The band finished recording their fourth album Syvyyden portit on saatava auki- in the fall of 2025, and the album is scheduled to be released during 2026.

Over the years, the rawness of the band’s early HC punk and death metal has evolved into a more complex, black metal-influenced death metal, while still proudly maintaining the edginess of their early days.

German atmospheric black metal act WANDAR has announced the band’s upcoming new album, entitled “Tiefe Erde”, set for release on May 1 via Vendetta Records.

Formed in 2006, WANDAR emerged to cast a shadow over every ray of light creeping down from the heavens. Hailing from the heart of Finland, the masters of melodic death metal, Noumena, are making their long-awaited return. Their new single, “Kuolemankello” (The Deathwatch Beetle), is an intense, atmospheric, and catchy strike that sets the stage for the band’s upcoming seventh studio album.

­After a period of silence dedicated to honing their craft, Noumena has returned with a refined sound that captures the band’s core essence: a unique blend of Northern melancholy and relentless energy. Composer and guitarist Tuukka Tuomela is thrilled with the result:

“It’s a classic Noumena track with catchy melodies, striking riffs, and a hook-filled chorus. Growing into epic proportions, the song is a perfect choice for the first single from our upcoming full-length album.”

“Kuolemankello” continues Noumena’s tradition of powerful storytelling. The track dives deep into 18th-century Finland, specifically the era known as The Great Wrath (isoviha in Finnish) – a brutal period of Russian occupation marked by widespread atrocities and historical suffering. The song’s title refers to the “Deathwatch Beetle,” a wood-boring insect whose ticking sound was historically seen as an omen of impending death. Lyricist Hannu Savolainen sheds light on the dark theme:

“In folklore, the ‘Kuolemankello’ has been seen as an omen of death. In this story, the beetle ticking inside the wooden walls warns of a grim fate. The song is set during the savage era of The Great Wrath in 1700s Finland. However, even in this mournful tale, there is a small glimmer of hope, as is often the case in Noumena’s songs.”

The single offers a first taste of Noumena’s seventh album, scheduled for release in August. The long-standing veterans of the Finnish metal scene prove they are as formidable as ever – the clock is ticking, and Noumena’s time is now.

Noumena is a Finnish melodic death metal band formed in 1998 in Ähtäri, Finland. Known for combining melancholic melodies, heavy riffs and atmospheric soundscapes, Noumena draws from the Scandinavian death metal tradition while adding touches of Nordic melancholy and emotion.

Over their more than 25-year career, Noumena has released six full-length albums — including Pride/Fall (2002), Absence (2005), Anatomy of Life (2006), Death Walks With Me (2013), Myrrys (2017) and Anima (2020) — steadily evolving their sound while retaining their core identity.

Noumena has over 130 live shows history, the band has toured in Finland, Central Europe, Japan and China. They have shared the stages with acts like Insomnium, Beast in Black, Moonsorrow and many others.

“Melodically, the song moves through deeply melancholic and minor-key atmospheres. It incorporates elements ranging from classical piano music to a more pop-oriented direction, without ever losing the band’s distinctive sound. The choruses open up an entirely new sonic landscape, yet despite its raw intensity, the overall theme of the song remains very dark. The lyrics were inspired by a tragic case in which a young Finnish girl lost her life as a result of prolonged abuse by her parents. At the same time, the song also offers a point of connection for those who have, in one way or another, fallen through the cracks of society or live in loneliness — people who are too often seen merely as numbers in statistics.”

BIOGRAPHY:
Deadvoid Inc. is a Finnish melodic death metal band that blends elements ranging from classical music to extreme metal, creating an energetic, technically skilled, and completely distinctive musical entity.

D-inc was formed in early 2025 when longtime acquaintances Jonne Saarinen (vocals) and Tuomas Torikka (composition & guitar) decided to build something new in the midst of everything old. The album was completed in its entirety, and prior to its release, guitarist Jami Honkala and bassist Ville Heino—both heavily involved in the making of the record—joined the band.

This lineup of seasoned professionals in their field brings a fresh new subgenre to the airwaves, unlike anything you’ve heard before. Energetic songs, catchy grand melodies, furious riffs, and heart-wrenching slow sections are here to show everyone what Deadvoid Inc. is all about.
