US Death Metal outfit ARTIFICIAL BRAIN has officially announced its fourth studio album, entitled “Antillia”, which is set for worldwide release on November 13 via Profound Lore Records. To mark the announcement, the band has unleashed the fierce first track, “Quantum Malignancies”, as the debut single. Listen here:

Stream the single HERE

Founding member and bassist Samuel Smith comments: “I’m excited to be releasing ‘Quantum Malignancies’ first because I think this song is a good reflection of both the change and continuity in our sound on ‘Antillia’. The track opens with a mess of guttural vocal noise courtesy of Paulo Paguntalan, who has featured on all of our albums, and it contains a characteristically wistful arpeggiated section at its midpoint. Ian’s mix and the contributions of our new members, Mike and Alex, have imbued this material with a new sense of immediacy, though. The frantic energy of this song culminates in dueling guitar solos, which are another key part of this record’s distinct identity.“

Tracklist:
1. The Wandering Star Prion
2. Quantum Malignancies
3. Obsidian Agents
4. Deciphering the Anachronistic Tongues of the Relic Satellites
5. Planet Carrion
6. Against the Furthest Reaches of the Light
7. Cosmic Death Church
8. Solar Ark
9. Antillia (in Chromatic Aberration)

Space and time transform their passengers; all boundaries are permeable. ARTIFICIAL BRAIN wrestles at length with this reality on “Antillia”. It’s nine tales of cosmic woe repeatedly invoking images of invasion and penetration: strange diseases filter down from the sky; pollutants corrupt the water and soil; medical nanobots trigger cancerous plagues; alien subversives undermine terrestrial governments. Again and again, humans are defiled and transformed as they struggle to navigate the sea of stars.

ARTIFICIAL BRAIN itself has been similarly transmuted by their local environment. After a period of operation as a six-person international collective, the band has established a new base of operations in Richmond, Virginia. In doing so, they have absorbed some local contaminants of their own in the form of vocalist Mike Paparo (Inter Arma) and drummer Alex Tomlin (Battlemaster). Rounding out the lineup for the new era of the band are the founding-member core of guitarist Dan Gargiulo and bassist Samuel Smith along with most-recent guitarist Oleg Zalman. Other satellites in the band’s orbit remain familiar, like recurring guest vocalist Paulo Pangutalan (Miasmatic Necrosis) and longtime ally Ian Jacyszyn (Aeviterne), who delivered Antillia’s mix – a marvel of gritty, lived-in detail, as impeccably designed as the bridge of the space freighter Nostromo in Ridley Scott’s Alien.

The core premise of ARTIFICIAL BRAIN’s music remains consistent, too: a grafting of sinuous, futuristic black metal melody onto a dense and imposing death metal skeleton. Antillia brings a new degree of urgency to this distinctive formula. It is their shortest and most aggressive album to date; its blastbeat-laden cacophony is by turns punctuated by riotous solos and shrouded by a nimbus of hazy textures.

Despite its ferocious clamor, Antillia’s primary emotional affect is melancholic, even wistful. A sense of loss and surrender permeates the record, most strikingly articulated by its title track’s ode to a homeworld irretrievably abandoned to the void: “Was it ever real? Was it ever real?” For Artificial Brain, the future has ceased to serve as a repository for optimistic dreams. It is here, now, in all its horror, visiting itself upon our bodies and minds, whether we like it or not.

“Antillia” was recorded/mixed by Ian Jacyszyn (Miasmatic Necrosis, Aeviterne) and mastered by Colin Marston (Krallice, Gorguts. Defeated Sanity etc.). Artwork by Fleshflies.

The album will be out November 13 on Profound Lore Records and is available for pre-order HERE.

The track “Kólga” is also now streaming. It features Veronika Rovná of the Prague National Theatre on soprano vocals, alongside legendary guitarist Marek “Ashok” Šmerda (ex-Cradle of Filth, ex-Root, ex-Equirhodont, ex-Titanic), who contributes the opening guitar solo.

“Kólga” is available to stream on Bandcamp, Ampwall and YouTube.

The conceptual and epic black metal album “Nine Lives of Einarr the Raven” is the work of Czech-Icelandic solo project Sigurður, created by musician and musicologist Martin Sigurður Kajzar.

At its core, the album seeks to preserve and honour medieval melodic traditions while incorporating tonal structures characteristic of Northern European and Norse musical cultures.

The album has a distinctive harmonic design, with motivic development drawing on minimalism, at times approaching trance, alongside a wide range of modal modulations. Its compositional approach uses recurring motifs associated with particular characters and events, recalling the broader Wagnerian concept of the leitmotif. Tritones are used to signify elements of evil, while the Dorian mode evokes the spiritual realm, creating a close connection between the musical and lyrical dimensions of the album.

Drawing on tradition and cultural identity, the record also features a variation on an old Icelandic lullaby and a chorale using lyrics by Icelandic poet Hallgrímur Pétursson (1614–1674).

Thematically, “Nine Lives of Einarr the Raven” follows the life and posthumous journey of an Icelandic boy caught between the human world and a realm of supernatural entities. Along the way, he faces epic challenges and changing perspectives on mortality and the inevitability of death.

Sigurður draws from traditional mythological sources, particularly the Edda, while creating an entirely new and deeply personal narrative. The saga begins with the story of Einarr’s birth, “on the night when the raven awakens”, foreshadowing an unusual destiny. His longing for adventure leads him to the mythical Erda, but his curiosity ultimately brings tragedy, culminating in the imprisonment of his soul within the body of a raven.

This posthuman existence becomes a cosmological metaphor as the raven moves through a sequence of stories, episodes and encounters connected by a search for knowledge and understanding. Dialogues built around sacred numbers, including three gods, nine lives and nine compositions, unfold between Einarr and major figures from Norse mythology such as the goddess Kólga, the wolf Fenrir and the serpent Miðgarðsormr.

“Nine Lives of Einarr the Raven” features special guest appearances from:

Marek “Ashok” Šmerda (ex-Root, ex-Cradle of Filth) – guest guitar
Veronika Rovná (Prague National Theatre) – soprano as Kólga

More guests will be revealed soon.

Canadian atmospheric and melodic black metal band ARCTOS will release their new album “A Path Apart” on November 6th, 2026 through Northern Silence Productions. The album will be available digitally, on CD and LP.

“A Path Apart” explores disillusionment, loss, perseverance and the strength of individuality. Much of the album follows a connected journey, beginning from the perspective of zealous worship, moving through the realisation that this existence is hollow, and eventually arriving at the decision to break away and seek another path.

The album was designed to be heard as a whole, with the dynamics of the songs and interludes carrying that story forward while leaving space for reflection. Compared with Beyond the Grasp of Mortal Hands, the material was written over a much shorter period, something the band feel helped give the new record a more cohesive sound.

Its creation also coincided with a period of considerable change for the members of ARCTOS. Covid isolation, new fatherhood, career changes and their drummer moving to Iceland all affected the writing process. According to the band, becoming more self-reliant both personally and musically helped them better understand the voice of ARCTOS, resulting in a record they describe as diverse and dynamic while remaining focused.

“A Path Apart” was recorded over two years and across several countries. Drums were recorded in Iceland by Helgi Durhuus at Stúdíó Helvíti in spring 2024. Bass and vocals were recorded between 2024 and 2025 at Oracle Studios with Diego Fernandez in Canada, while guitars and additional vocals were recorded at the Frostbitten Basement Cave in Canada. Mixing and mastering were handled by Juho Räihä at Soundspiral Audio in Finland in 2026.

Tracklist:

1. From Formless Depths...

2. Altar of Storms

3. Cold Stone and Broken Earth

4. Greybound

5. Crossing the Funeral Plain...

6. A Path Apart

7. The Cloak

8. The Way of the Forgotten (The Passage III)

Nick Wilberg - Piano
Josh Needham - Drums
Jeremy Puffer - Guitar

Pre-orders now open for limited leather box sets, gatefold vinyl editions, CDs, cassettes and merch

Luleå, Sweden & Athens, Greece; 4 September 2026: Swedish death metal legends Gates of Ishtar have unveiled further information about their long-awaited studio comeback. “Murder the Light” will be the band’s fourth studio album and their first in 29 years. It will be released on 21 January 2027 via The Circle Music, with pre-orders open now.

“After nearly three decades, Gates of Ishtar return,” the band stated regarding the upcoming release. “This January we will release our first album since 1998. Not a look back, but a continuation built on the same foundation and spirit that defined us then and still drives us now. The new material stays true to the sound and identity that shaped our earlier work. While reflecting the years that have passed and the experiences gained along the way, now nearly thirty years later, the fire still burns even brighter and more intensely than ever. More details soon…”

The Circle Music added: “Long before melodic death metal became a global phenomenon, Gates of Ishtar helped define the Swedish sound with their masterful balance of razor-edged riffs, melancholic melodies, and timeless songwriting. Their influence can still be heard throughout the genre, even if history has never granted them the recognition they so richly deserve. "Murder the Light" does not seek to recreate the past. It expands upon it with confidence, maturity, and the same creative fire that made the band's early recordings so enduring. Every composition reflects musicians who have remained true to their identity while allowing nearly three decades of life and experience to shape their art. This is the return of a band with something meaningful to say.”

Founded in Luleå, Sweden, Gates of Ishtar created a strong cult fan base through iconic albums such as “A Bloodred Path” and “At Dusk and Forever”. The band came back into action towards the end of 2023 for a special live gig. They returned to their old creative groove, performing at festivals, which in turn resulted in the album “Murder the Light”. The recording process started at the Humbucker Studios in Hagsätra, Sweden, in May 2026, where the band recorded the drum and bass parts. Guitars and vocal parts were recorded in the next two months, June and July, at Fallen Studios. The producer, Robert Pehrson, mixed and mastered the album at Humbucker Studios in August 2026.

The album will be available in the following physical formats:

Debut full-length from the atmospheric black metal band to be released via Vendetta Records

First single “Monolith” out now on all major streaming services

Oakenthrone also announce UK headline tour for December; following Fortress Presents: Tynebound performance in September

Manchester, UK; 1 September 2026: British atmospheric black metal band Oakenthrone will release their debut album “Ad Silvam” on 27 November via Vendetta Records. In anticipation of the release, the band has unleashed the first track “Monolith”, which was premiered via the Black Metal Promotion YouTube channel.

Listen to “Monolith”:

• BMP YouTube:

• Spotify:

• Bandcamp:

According to the band’s mastermind Simon Nagington, “‘Monolith’ deals with the magnitude of death, the eternity of the post-mortem abyss, and the terror that it imparts on us. Yet we are forever caught in its magnetic pull, the call to the void. For true immortality lies in the memories of our loved ones, and its gateway is found in an early grave.”

“Monolith” is a glimpse of what “Ad Silvam” offers. Thematically, the album explores both the entropy of life and the atrophy of death. The temptations of the immortality that only death can offer, the terror of the concept of eternity, and the divinity of nature; the great equaliser, where men, beasts and gods are all destined to return, as one, to the soil. Musically, each track tells a story. A saga that weaves between moments of unbridled rage, the peaks of epic grandeur and the depths of melancholic introspection. Soaring melodies, monolithic riffs and blistering aggression with moments of brief, quiet reflection.

Written over the span of 12 months by Simon Nagington, now with the aid of the rest of Oakenthrone, "Ad Silvam" was recorded by the band themselves and mixed and mastered by Sam Turbitt at Ritual Studios in the spring of 2026. The album artwork is an original oil painting created for the album by Simon Chognot.

Formed in 2022 as a solo project, Oakenthrone built early momentum through two sold-out cassette releases, "Embers of Reverie" (2024) and "Astral Binding & The Oathsworn" (2025), which pushed Oakenthrone to the top of the Bandcamp UK Black Metal page. The project expanded into a full four-piece live unit in 2025 with the addition of Nathan Caven(ex-Sathamel), Andrew Hunt (ex-Pist) and Ant Hurlock (ex-Mairu), and performed their debut performance at the Call of The Crow festival to huge praise. What followed was a festival-exclusive split cassette with fellow festival performers and dungeon synth stalwarts, Gate Master, and the release of "Paths Once Trodden (2024-2025)" for Darkwoods Records. In March 2026, a pivotal moment came for the band when Oakenthroned joined Saor on the UK leg of their Amidst the Ruins tour.

In December 2026, Oakenthrone will head out on a headlining UK tour alongside special guests. Ahead of that, the atmospheric black metal band will perform at Fortress Presents: Tynebound at Anarchy Brew Co. on 5-6 September in Newcastle.

US black metal duo STORMRULER have signed a worldwide deal with Distortion Music Group (DMG) - Powered by Reigning Phoenix Music. Alongside the announcement, STORMRULER present the new track, “Dark Age Of Deception.”

STORMRULER comment on the single release “Dark Age Of Deception”,
“We chose this song to be at the forefront of the Imperial resurgence for a few reasons. First and foremost it’s a sonic battery draped in frozen and melancholic themes, the sort of soaring leads and blackened assault one has come to expect from a refined and matured STORMRULER. It also provides a peak into one of many legends told within the Realm of Aurelia, a world soon to be explored by many…”

“Dark Age Of Deception” is a standalone single marking STORMRULER’s introduction to DMG. Separate from the narrative of the upcoming album, the track delivers the band’s signature blend of melodic black metal, relentless aggression and sweeping atmosphere. Built on blistering riffs, rapid fire drumming and commanding melodies, it serves as a direct and uncompromising first statement from the band’s new chapter.

About STORMRULER:

Born out of St. Louis, MO, the ferocious black metal duo STORMRULER is comprised of guitarist and vocalist Jason Asberry and drummer Jesse Schobel. Captivated by fantasy realms, the band’s imagery and sonic design draw from this theme entwined with historical elements.

The debut album Under The Burning Eclipse emerged in 2021, released via Napalm Records. This full-length was followed in quick succession by the sophomore offering, Sacred Rites & Black Magick, also via Napalm Records in 2022.

With “Dark Age Of Deception,” STORMRULER rise through the all encompassing gloom with obliterating force. Plunging into a dark and immersive shroud of atmospheric layers and commanding intensity, “Dark Age Of Deception” signifies the band’s new chapter has commenced.

Cuban-born, Switzerland-based death/doom band SECTARIUM will release their new album, “Mud Teeth”, on October 9, 2026. The album’s first single and title track is already available online, while the band is currently looking for a label or distribution partner for a physical release on CD and vinyl.

The nine-track record follows “Ad Infernum” (2023) and marks the band’s first album featuring Doomslayer on guitar and vocals alongside founding member Oliva.

Musically, “Mud Teeth” pushes SECTARIUM further into death/doom territory, combining heavy death metal riffing, slow and oppressive doom passages, and a darker, more atmospheric approach. The album draws on themes of winter, mythology, the underworld and ritual, while keeping the raw character that has defined the band since its beginnings in the Cuban underground.

The title track, “Mud Teeth”, is already available as a video single on YouTube:

Tracklist:

1. Killing Thorry

2. Phlegm Icicles

3. Mud Teeth

4. Doors of Dite

5. Frozen Titans Circle

6. Ignavos

7. Cold Bloody Whispers

8. The One Who Crawls

9. Bodyless Queen

“Mud Teeth” was composed, arranged and produced by Oliva at OLI-Studios in Switzerland, with mixing and mastering handled by Doomslayer at DeepBlast Studios in Uruguay.

Oliva is responsible for the guitar, bass and drum arrangements and lyrics, while Doomslayer contributed additional guitar, bass and drum parts as well as vocal arrangements.

The album artwork was created by Artemasdesign.

The material has already been submitted to digital platforms, while SECTARIUM are currently seeking a label or distribution partner for a physical release on CD and vinyl.

About the band:

Formed in Cuba in 1993, SECTARIUM are among the early bands of the Cuban death/doom metal underground.

Their first demo, “God’s Wrath” (1993), later gained cult status among underground metal listeners, followed by “Larvae” in 1999, recorded during a period marked by the death of bassist and vocalist Franto Paul.

“God’s Wrath” has since received several reissues, including releases through Black Noise Records in 2017, American Line Productions in 2023 and La Caverna Records in 2025.

Based in Switzerland since 2012, SECTARIUM returned from a long recording hiatus with “Ad Infernum” in 2023.

In 2026, the addition of Doomslayer on guitar and vocals introduced a new line-up for the band. “Mud Teeth” continues that evolution with a heavier and more focused death/doom sound while retaining the identity SECTARIUM have developed over more than three decades.

Soaked in blood and craving more, North Carolina’s melodic death metal masters AETHER REALM have undergone a violent transformation, emerging with their ferocious new album Season of Bloodshed, to be unleashed December 11th, 2026 via Napalm Records.

Since the band’s 2020 album Redneck Vikings From Hell, AETHER REALM have held on by the skin of their teeth through a global pandemic, the historic Hurricane Helene, and a mid-record lineup change, with former guitarist Donny Burbage departing and new guitarist Chris Jones entering the fray. Season of Bloodshed clutches you in its blood-soaked claws and guides you on an intense exploration of an existential transformation fueled by rage.

About the album the band states:
“This is an album born from an anger that was allowed to fester for too long. At the confluence of the great injustices of our time and the insignificant wrongs that get under our skin every day, we can find ourselves transformed into our worst selves. It is in the expression of this feeling—through these cruel riffs, shredding solos, and crushing breakdowns—that we may find peace.”

Pre-Order Your Copy of Season Of Bloodshed HERE

From its first heartbeats, the album bares its teeth. The vampiric opening track “The Blood Is Calling” is layered with thunderous kick drums and cataclysmic string arrangements setting the stage for something truly ghastly. Propelled by blast beats from drummer Tyler Gresham, ornate guitar harmonies, and Martin Gonzalez’ enveloping orchestrations, the first track is a herald of a new era as the band transforms into something darker. “Control” opens with a triumphant harmonized guitar duel before taking off at one hundred miles per hour with virtuoso guitar duo Heinrich Arnold and Chris Jones weaving riff tapestries, embracing listeners in a dystopian dream of the future. Always looking to experiment with the form, “Broken Fist”enlists guest vocalist Taj Jewett to lend their rage to a track that fuses nu metal and prog into a showcase of infectiously bouncy grooves and unstoppable riffage.

The aptly titled “Get Fukt” is as vitriolic as the title suggests. Bassist and frontman Jake Jones delivers a venomous verbal onslaught alongside driving harmonized riffs clearly developed at the school of Bodom. “The Weight” offers the album’s first brief respite with serene synths paving the way for another hellish breakdown, tectonic drums crack the ground as flaming guitars emerge from the rubble and lash at the sky. Featuring the impeccable orchestration composer Wayne Ingram (known for his work in Wilderun and on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok), the track expands into mesmerizing grandeur.Opening with a serene folksy respite provided by departing guitarist Donny Burbage and violinist Sarah Stepanik, “Path of The Wind” emerges as an explosive blackened folk song with singalongs and blasts beats that tells the tale of how the band emerged physically unscathed from Hurricane Helene. Further honoring their southern roots, “Achilles’ Heel” opens with intimate banjo strums dancing around vocalist Jake Jones’ heartfelt croon, sung from the perspective of Patroclus, the companion of the titular mythological Greek hero Achilles. This bitter song honors the epic with guitar and string orchestrations of equally grand composition, coupled with a chorus that you can’t resist stomping your foot to.

Album closer “Terminus Omnium,” a Latin phrase translating roughly to “The End of All Things”, opens with cinematic, Game Of Thrones level pounding drums—courtesy of orchestrator and mix engineer Rob Carson—beating a cataclysmic opening for the record’s most expensive track. Enlisting the Western North Carolina Pagan Choir there is a level of finality in the arrangement akin to a Elden Ring boss battle.

Despite the obstacles put in their path, AETHER REALM emerges revitalized, determined, and simmering with anger while maintaining their trademark complex melodies and ferocious guitar attack.

Season of Bloodshed Tracklist:
1. The Blood Is Calling
2. Control
3. Broken Fist (Feat. Taj Jewett)
4. Get Fukt
5. The Weight
6. Path of the Wind

German black metallers BOÖTES VOID have delivered another intense glimpse into their upcoming new full-length, entitled "Panta Rhei", which will be out on September 4 via Vendetta Records. Following the release of the first single & video "Nihil", the band now follows up with the album's title track. The song features guest contributions by Austria's ELLENDE and you can listen here:

"We deliberately wrote this song to be full of contrasts, reflecting the natural cycle of change that shapes everything", the band comments. "The last glimmer of hope in the face of all these crises and all this suffering: even if all this shit has to end along with humanity for things to get better, at least it’ll be better afterwards".

Tracklist:
01. Crown Of Vermin
02. Shapers Of The End
03. Nihil
04. Onwards To Our Death
05. Lost In Oblivion
06. Nebula
07. Panta Rhei
08. Requiem

Taking its name from the ancient Greek philosophical principle of Heraclitus - “everything flows” - BOÖTES VOID‘s upcoming album “Panta Rhei” revolves around the doctrine of perpetual change, exploring the idea that nothing in existence remains fixed. Every moment transforms us, every experience reshapes the world around us, and permanence itself proves to be an illusion.

This timeless concept forms the philosophical backbone of BOÖTES VOID‘s new record, weaving together a series of seemingly distinct lyrical themes into one cohesive narrative. Across the album, each composition examines a different aspect of human existence while contributing another piece to its overarching vision.

Opening tracks such as “Crown of Vermin” and “Shapers of the End” confront oppressive power structures built upon suffering and expose the collective helplessness of societies consuming themselves in pursuit of progress, even as they accelerate the very collapse they fear.

As the album unfolds, these themes gradually converge in the title track “Panta Rhei”, where Heraclitus’ philosophy provides the record’s ultimate resolution. Instead of resisting change, the album embraces impermanence as an essential condition of life - suggesting that transformation, loss and renewal are inseparable parts of existence itself.

Formed in 2019, BOÖTES VOID have since released the demo ‘The Alder’s Sleep’, the EP ‘Alder’s Heresy’ (2019), and two full-length albums, ‘C.O.L.D.’ (2022) and ‘Singularity’ (2023). With “Panta Rhei”, the band now embarks on its next chapter, pushing both its philosophical vision and sonic identity further than ever before.

Line-up:
Boötes - Vocals
Corvus - Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals
Draktar - Rhythm Guitar
Cygnus - Bass, Backing Vocals
Otis - Drums

Indianapolis melodic death-doom outfit MOTHER OF GRAVES has announced the release of their upcoming full-length, entitled “The Light that Keeps Us”, which has been slated for release on October 16th via Profound Lore Records. The first single, “Through the Pale Shade”, has been unveiled today. Listen to the track here:

Stream the single HERE

Vocalist Brandon Howe comments on “Through the Pale Shade”: “‘Through the Pale Shade’ is a lyrical tale of resilience in a faltering world and letting the hands of beauty be your uplifting guide through the darkest and most desperate pits of the self and soul. Instrumentally, the song bleeds a similar hope and despair within each note. We chose this song as the first single because we feel it thoroughly encapsulates the true and honest nature of our sound. I think from start to finish, it speaks well in terms of our identity that we’ve steadily grown into as a band; coalescing with our personal touches the heavy approach to things and melodies that feel dreamlike without sacrificing the wholeness of the song itself. Thanks for listening, and we hope that it serves you well. The countdown begins as autumn approaches.“

Tracklist:
01. Wingless Soul (feat. Dan Swanö)
02. Through the Pale Shade
03. The Light That Keeps Us
04. Eventide Angel
05. The Silent Weight of the Stars
06. A Moonlit Tryst
07. The Beggar’s Allegory
08. The Endless Climb

Following two years of meticulous crafting and the lasting impact left behind by their sophomore offering “The Periapt of Absence” - which claimed the #11 spot on Decibel Magazine’s Top 40 AOTY and tore through countless year-end lists - the death-doom titans return with their most fully realized offering yet. Here, it is evident that MOTHER OF GRAVES have no intention of slowing their evolution into fully realized territory as a quintet. The album is driven by the sharpened songwriting of guitarists Chris Morrison and Ben Sandman, the unrelenting foundation of bassist Corey Clark and drummer Don Curtis, and the expressive, poetic cadence of vocalist/keyboardist Brandon Howe.

Seamlessly forging the aggression and power of death metal with the melancholic and romantic edge of melodic doom, “The Light that Keeps Us” is crushing, hauntingly human, and a true showcase of the band’s authenticity in their expression and care for the genre. Each track serving as a hand to guide the listener through the introspective journey of mortality, sorrow, love and resilience. The band’s dynamic continues to grow under the production of guitarist Ben Sandman, whose work behind the console keeps personal touch prevalent within their music, stripping away the excess and amplifying the things that matter.

At the helm of visual depictions, fine artist Larisa Brechun perfectly captures the weight and depth of the music in her cover painting, providing evocative imagery to accompany the band’s bleak yet uplifting nature. It has become a standard throughout their years to recruit legend Dan Swano for his mastering expertise, but this time a greater gift presented itself as Dan proudly delivered guest vocals on the track “Wingless Soul”. A full circle moment in the band’s existence, as it gives the album that much more of a special and significant engraving within the world of death doom.

With “The Light that Keeps Us”, MOTHER OF GRAVES brings to you 8 tracks of despairing beauty laced in emotion and fierce purpose, marking yet another milestone in their promising career.

The album drops October 16th on Profound Lore Records and is available for pre-order HERE

French Groove Death Metal outfit SICKMIND has unveiled the official video for “New God”, offering the first glimpse into their upcoming full-length album, “Babel Tower”, due out October 9, 2026.

Formerly known as SILICIUM, SICKMIND operates within a dark and dystopian groove death metal universe shaped by themes of collapse, desolation, and a world on the brink of extinction. Drawing on post-apocalyptic imagery and an atmosphere of impending doom, the band’s music explores the darker side of a civilization pushed to its limits.

“New God” serves as a powerful introduction to the world of “Babel Tower”, combining crushing groove-driven riffs, dark atmospheres, and an uncompromising intensity. The accompanying video further brings SICKMIND’s dystopian vision to life, setting the tone for what promises to be the band’s most ambitious release to date.

The current lineup has revived SILICIUM, a band originally dating back to 2008, and began its new chapter by taking the stage as the opening act for Aephanemer. A sold-out show in Bordeaux in January 2023 marked the beginning of the new era for the band and laid the groundwork for what would become SICKMIND.

In 2024, the band recorded a new EP, released across all major streaming platforms in December, while continuing to build momentum on stage. Since 2025, the band has performed extensively across France, Spain, Portugal, and England, sharing stages at shows and festivals with acts including Eight Sins, Dagoba, Dygora, Gorod, and The Great Old Ones.

Tracklist:
01. While The Lights Are Still Shut (feat. Nicolas Alberny from Gorod)
02. The Chaos Beneath Our Feet (feat. Julien ‘Nutz’ Deyres from Gorod)
03. Dark Code
04. Dry Earth
05. New God
06. Shedding Skin
07. Humaless
08. Babel Tower
09. Moving Limbs
10. The Last Wandering

Now performing under the name SICKMIND, the four-piece is preparing to enter its next chapter with “Babel Tower”. Set for release on October 9, self-released by the band, the album expands SICKMIND’s dark and dystopian universe, drawing listeners into a world shaped by destruction, uncertainty, and the remnants of a civilization in decline. Furthermore, the album features contributions from Nicolas Alberny and Julien ‘Nutz’ Deyres of GOROD, adding their distinctive presence to the record’s dark and uncompromising sound.

Latest track from the new album, released on 4 September, produced by legendary engineer Jens Bogren and with artwork by Pär Olofsson

Physical pre-orders, including limited marbled vinyl editions, are available through The Circle Music

Bergen, Norway & Athens, Greece; 5 August 2026: Bergen-based melodic black metal outfit Sworn have released the second single "The Entropic Void" from their fifth album, “Null Crowned the Infinite”, which will be released on 4 September 2026.

Listen to "The Entropic Void" via No Clean Singing: https://www.nocleansinging.com/2026/08/05/an-ncs-premiere-sworn-the-entropic-void/

The band stated that this is "the coldest and most eerie track of the album. As it's the second to last track, thematically this one is about the closure of the cosmos in the endless cycle of creation and unmaking."

The track will be available via all major streaming services from Friday 7th August (pre-save), and follows the release of title track “Null Crowned the Infinite”.

Three years following the critically acclaimed “A Journey told through Fire” (2023), the new album navigates a sprawling conceptual narrative, tracing the cyclical nature of the cosmos from its initial spark in the void to its inevitable dissolution.

Lyrically, the album explores the terrifying scale of cosmic darkness and the fragility of existence within a primordial emptiness. Sworn investigates the philosophy of becoming and unmaking, where reality and time emerge from nothingness only to eventually collapse back into the same unfathomable origin. Musically, “Null Crowned the Infinite” pushes the boundaries of the band's established sound, balancing their signature melodic tension with newfound levels of aggression and atmospheric depth. The record features "The Starless Origin", a twelve-minute epic that stands as their longest composition to date, alongside "Fracture of Aeons", which the band identifies as their most aggressive track ever recorded.

Sworn collaborated with renowned producer Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios, who handled the mixing and mastering. Bogren’s legendary portfolio, featuring giants such as Opeth, Arch Enemy and Behemoth, brings a polished yet devastating edge to the performances of Max Wilson, Christoffer Kjørsvik, Gøran Hope and Tom Ian Klungland. The album artwork is equally striking, created by Pär Olofsson, known for his iconic work with Aborted and Kreator.

While Sworn continues to operate as an independent entity for the recording and production, they have partnered with The Circle Music to handle the physical releases under a special licensing deal. The release includes a Digipak CD alongside two distinct vinyl variants: Marbled Smoke and Marbled Green.

Since their debut “The Alleviation” in 2007, Sworn has evolved from a solitary vision into a powerful force in the black metal scene. Their history includes notable performances at major European festivals such as Summer Breeze, Ragnarök and Ultima Ratio, as well as tours alongside bands including Behemoth, Aborted and Helrunar. In 2023, Sworn released “A Journey Told Through Fire”, an album that became a defining moment for the band. Widely praised for its intensity, atmosphere and emotional depth, the record pushed Sworn to new heights and solidified their standing as one of Norway’s most well-known melodic black metal acts. Darker, sharper and more focused than ever before, the album captured the essence of everything Sworn had been building toward since their inception. Now, in 2026, Sworn return with “Null Crowned the Infinite”, a worthy successor that expands on the darkness and power that defined its predecessor while pushing deeper into bleak and atmospheric territory. The new album stands as the next chapter in the band’s relentless evolution. On stage and on record, Sworn continue to carry the fire forward with unwavering conviction.

Born from a cross-continental collaboration between Austria and Québec (Canada), Black Metal trio DÉTRESSE have announced their second full-length album, "Misères", set for release on October 9, 2026, via Vendetta Records. The announcement is accompanied by the release of the album's first single, "Verrottet", offering a first glimpse into the band's latest work.

Speaking about the track, the band comments: ''Verrottet is the first single from our upcoming album Misères. German for 'rotten', the title reflects the song's uncompromising vision of humanity at its core: corrupted, lost, and consumed by its own decay. With no hope of redemption, its only fate is an inevitable, self-inflicted demise.''

Following the foundation laid by their 2025 debut “Pessimismes”, “Misères” continues DÉTRESSE‘s uncompromising approach to Black Metal while pushing their sound further. The album deals with the misery of mankind and human hardship, exploring how oppression, deprivation, and despair shape everyday existence, blurring the boundaries between past and present. Shaped through raw, unadulterated soundscapes, “Misères” offers a journey into the darkest corners of humanity.

Musically, the album retains the band’s raw and uncompromising sound while cutting back on atmospheric passages in favour of greater intensity and harsh, relentless riffing. Built on relentless riffs, shifting tempos, and uncompromising vocal intensity, DÉTRESSE delivers Black Metal as it should be - without frills, gimmicks, or trends.

Following years of relentless evolution, New York’s avant-garde black metal visionaries KRALLICE have unveiled “Living Useless Ritual”, the first single from their forthcoming full-length album “Scour Order”, set for release on September 18 via Profound Lore Records. Pre-orders are available HERE.

Serving as the first glimpse into the album’s formidable sonic landscape, “Living Useless Ritual” channels KRALLICE‘s unmistakable blend of labyrinthine riffcraft, unrelenting intensity, and fearless experimentation, offering a first taste of the dark and expansive world explored throughout “Scour Order”.

Stream the single HERE

With “Scour Order”, KRALLICE return to Profound Lore Records, the label that released the band’s first three albums, while revisiting aspects of their classic dual-guitar approach in a new chapter of their ever-evolving sound.

Formed in 2007 in Woodhaven, Queens, New York City, KRALLICE began as a collaboration between guitarists Colin Marston and Mick Barr, initially conceived as a black metal recording project. Following the release of their self-titled debut in 2008 with drummer Lev Weinstein, the project quickly evolved into a full band with the addition of Nicholas McMaster on bass and vocals.

Across twenty full-length albums and EPs, KRALLICE have continuously expanded the boundaries of black metal through dense, polyphonic compositions and an uncompromising spirit of experimentation. While their early releases established the band’s signature blend of technical precision and relentless intensity, subsequent works increasingly embraced atmospheric textures, unconventional songwriting, synthesizers, and shifting instrumental roles. Beginning with “Loum” in 2017, which introduced collaborations with Dave Edwardson (NEUROSIS), and continuing through the synth-heavy, lineup-shifting explorations of “Demonic Wealth” and its successors, KRALLICE steadily broadened their sonic identity without sacrificing the complexity at the core of their sound.

Tracklist:
01. Agonal Shining
02. Grievous Corrector
03. Kill the Guardian
04. Unceasing Path
05. Living Useless Ritual
06. Indecipherable Divinities
07. Her Green Arms
08. Scour Order

For the new album, “Scour Order”, KRALLICE returns to the old instrumentation with Colin and Mick on guitars and McMaster on bass, but Colin’s vocals have stuck around. The new album is raging and dark, dense but also expansive. It marks both a return to familiar foundations and a continuation of the band’s ongoing evolution.

Coinciding with the release of “Scour Order”, KRALLICE will embark on their first European tour. Although the band has historically prioritized writing and recording over extensive touring, they have shared stages with Wolves in the Throne Room, Gorguts, Portal, Ludicra, Withered, Vampillia, Pale Chalice, and most recently Blood Incantation, while also appearing at festivals including Maryland Deathfest, Incubate, and Roadburn, where the new material received its live premiere at the 2026 edition.

The Finnish progressive folk/black metal band Jotungrav are set to release their debut album ‘Elegi’ on August 20th 2026 via Inverse Records. The only single ‘Återfödd’ is unleashed today and it’s available here: https://push.fm/fl/jotungrav-aterfodd

The band comments:
“ “Återfödd” (Swedish for “reborn”) sees Jotungrav embrace its folk metal roots more than on any other song from the band’s forthcoming album. It is largely inspired by Finnish folk music and waltzes, with time signatures that are less common in metal. As a fast and energetic song it features both uplifting melodies and majestic passages, some of which can be surprisingly danceable. The song is a rather noticeable departure from Jotungrav’s usual style, as on “Återfödd” all black metal inspiration has been stripped down and replaced by elements found in progressive melodic death metal. During its eight minute runtime the listener can hear hints of Wilderun, early Ensiferum and Finsterforst, as well as 2000’s and 2010’s folk metal in general. For the band this has struck a balance between respecting the origins of Jotungrav and progressing as a band. The song focuses on one theme alone: the indomitable human spirit. It is a reminder that the cruelty of the universe cannot break one that is filled with purpose and remains unyielding. The cover art for the single reflects the flipside of this, where the death of someone beloved isn’t just a one–sided rebirth, but a turning point for both parties. Here change happens through tragedy; one lives on in memories, while the other is changed for life.”

BIOGRAPHY:
Jotungrav is the brainchild of singer-songwriter Matias Stenman, which incorporates elements of black metal and folk metal within a progressive metal framework. The project got its initial start in 2015, but most of the material composed back then ended up being discarded. It was in the summer of 2022 when the single Drängen was finished when Jotungrav finally materialized, with the help of fellow Sargassus members Matias Rokio, who provided percussive arrangements to the song, as well as Teemu Leskinen, who took on the mixing and mastering duties. Initially Jotungrav was a slowly progressing musical effort, but with time the project managed to accumulate enough material for a second single, Ulven, while working on more material for future releases. Both musically and thematically Jotungrav draws inspiration from early 2000s–2010s viking/pagan metal scene and mythology. The lyrics have a philosophical and symbolic focus on humanity. The songs evolve into vast soundscapes while maintaining a raw and genuine feel to them, paying homage to the early days of folk metal. As Jotungravi has developed, the band has moved closer to progressive, melodic folk metal, with the black metal influences familiar to the band playing a smaller role in the music. On the latest album “Elegi,” the songs stretch into even longer and more dynamic epics that take the listener through wartorn landscapes of the ancient world.

Jotungrav - Elegi (Album 2026)

Track list:
01. Vansinnesvisdom (07:53)
02. Återfödd (07:51)

Brazilian death metal band Ereboros releases “In the Depths of Misery,” the first single from the upcoming album From Oblivion to the Grave, due out independently on October 30.

“In the Depths of Misery” addresses social inequality, psychological control and the way fear and ignorance can become instruments of domination. At its core, the song deals with a form of imprisonment that does not depend on walls: the one created inside the human mind.

The track introduces the central themes of From Oblivion to the Grave, an album shaped by real experiences of suffering, anxiety, disillusionment and the search for meaning during periods of personal instability. Much of the material was influenced by difficult moments experienced by the band’s vocalist and drummer.

Musically, the album is built around aggressive death metal, heavy riffs and oppressive atmospheres, balanced by melodic sections that reinforce the emotional weight of the songs. Its ten tracks maintain a constant sense of tension, reflecting the psychological and emotional themes behind the lyrics.

Tracklist

1. From Oblivion to the Grave

2. Distorted Man-made Concept

3. The Agony of Existence

4. Salute to Disorder

5. Dissonant Soul

6. Nocturnal Paranoia

7. One Last Pulse

8. In the Depths of Misery

Approach of the long awaited second album release of epic melodeath ambassador Ulthima is being announced with an opening single “White Raven”. From Monterrey Mexico, to Helsinki Finland, the band came to be known in the Finnish metal scene with their Debut album “Symphony of the Night” in 2021, and is set to release their second full album in the autumn of 2026.

“White Raven” explores the journey from fearing death to accepting it as a natural part of existence. Guided by the symbol of the White Raven, the song blends mythological imagery and reflection on mortality, portraying death not as an end, but as a passage into eternity.

Listen to the single on music services (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, Amazon Music etc.): https://push.fm/fl/ulthima-whiteraven

The guitarist and composer Ric tells about the song: “White raven is one of the last songs I wrote for this album. It’s one of those that come out of nowhere with just one small riff and rapidly developed in a full length song. It always felt very organic while it was put together and definitely one of the best ones in the album.

Lyric wise I wanted a deep topic for it. While it is a bit cliche talking about death and all that, I felt it was a fitting for this song as it is something we can all relate to.

With this album, we set out to sharpen and define our identity as a band. Instead of pursuing a polished, overly perfected production, we embraced a rawer and more organic sound that captures the intensity and spirit of our music. We wanted the album to feel alive—heavy, aggressive, and honest—while preserving the human element that often gets lost in modern productions. The result is our most authentic release to date, a record that reflects who we are as musicians and delivers our vision with power, atmosphere, and conviction.”

Ulthima is a band that originated back in 2010 in Monterrey Mexico, the band went on hiatus until 2018 in Helsinki Finland. Where the band finally consolidated its members and finished their first full length album Symphony of the Night. In mid 2024 the band started the recording of their second full length album Midnight’s Call, which will be released in the fall of 2026.
